Stunning 1964 Gretsch 6124 Anniversary Model from 1964.
Very nice condition for it’s age, no binding rot or evidence of having a neck reset or needing one. Has original ‘pin’ on heel from factory.
No sinking on the body or around the F hoes as is common on these. I very good structurally sound example.
Some naturally ageing as expected, checking on the front of the headstock and the odd mark here and there but nothing that would be deemed as heavy use all these years.
Frets are in good order, some minor pitting and evidence of previous dressing with still plenty to go on. All backlights showing no repairs or overspray.

A nice feature is that it has an original Gretsch ‘Palm tone twister’ gizmo which attaches to the strings as pictured and you gently push with your palm to give the trem effect. Quite useable for what it does and a nice extra bonus and also quite rare. It is missing its centre nut but doesn’t affect it’s function.

Original blacktop pick up sounds wonderful and the ‘mud’ switch gives a little more versatility having the one neck position.
Very low action, one heck of an easy player which sound wonderful and as you’d expect for this model.

Overall one very nice example, a great playing and sounding 1964 Gretsch.

Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out.
These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
