Rare 1974 VOX AC30, Dallas Arbiter era. Generally the 70’s were hard times for classic brands and VOX also fell into this. In 1974 they decided to go back to how it was, 60’s chases and all tag boards, not a PCB or flow solder in sight.
Like the later 60’s AC30’s these had the solid state rectifier and being someone who’s owned and used AC30’s for many years, I do tend to favour the SS rectifier for it’s tighter response, dare I say.
This is one of the first 50 made in ’74 due to it having the Silver (or blue) Alnico speakers. Celestion had ceased making the Alnicos due to costs and so the last 100 went into eh first 50 combos.
There is a great article here about the amp and ours was made in the same week as the one featured in the article: http://www.voxshowroom.com/uk/amp/ac30_dallas.html
Very nice condition cosmetically. Has been serviced and had an internal fuse added.
