This has to be one of the best 70’s Custom Telecasters that I have had in. This 74 fender Custom Telecaster is light weight and the burst is ageing beautifully.

There is wear and natural patina. Several ‘safe’ cracks in the guard are present, with care they should not develop more but the next owner may want to replace it and keep the original safe.

Pots date to 1973, one may be replaced, though the solders look original I can’t quite read the code to confirm so assume that it has been changed.

The frets are low but it plays effortlessly with no issues. The truss works perfectly in both directions. The rosewood board is also very clean. Some dings here and there but only adds to this wonderful Telecasters character. The neck has a lovely full feel to it with rolled edges.

The original pick ups do of course sound wonderful and the Seth Lover in the neck is sweet and in my opinion the hardest to replicate faithfully.

I absolutely love this guitar, one of those that I could just take home.

It comes with a non original hard case that I am told was bought at a charity shop and on opening has a note inside saying who’s the case was and what band he played in with a request that the next caretaker continue to gig and add more stickers, so lets keep this going!

This is one fabulous ’73/4 Custom Telecaster.

Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out. 

These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
