Over the 13 years I have been in the shop I have a a few later 40’s and early 50’s ES-125’s and this is an absolute stand out.

This particular model is a 1947, 16″ body which the very earliest featured the Trapezoid markers. 41 to 42 featured dots then 46 to 48/49 reverted to dots. Pretty sure this is all mahogany too.

It’s this feature that makes this for me personally. Along with the Slug magnet Dogear P90, a slightly higher output than on the bar magnet, sound beautiful. Never had a second strap button fitted on the heel.

Original tall knobs still present as is the original jack socket and pots.

No neck reset nor is one needed. No neck repairs or heel repairs etc. Natural crazing is present all over the guitar giving it that wonderful patina that you have to see on any vintage Gibson.

The neck feels like a slightly chunky C between a 58/59 profile if I were to compare to something familiar.

Play wear includes marks to the neck rear and body edges and some minor marks on the body as pictured.

Frets appear very clean I would suggest that they have been replaced to a perfect standard.

This is a wonderful example of a post war Gibson that needs to be seen and viewed to be appreciated as any vintage guitar.

Comes with non original hard case. Collection preferred on this.

Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out. 

These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
