This is wonderful, Gibson 1951 ES-125D

Quite hard to date but seeing the 4 + 2 digit serial and water slide decal with dot over the I touching the G would indicate 1951 or at latest ’52. Plus the original neck pick up does have adjustable poles.

This is in fantastic condition for its age though it has had a few mods.

The Bridge pick ups has been changed quite some time ago and the pots have been changed to Alpha’s at some point. All work undertaken has been carried out very nicely. This black lights perfectly showing no repairs. No neck reset look to have been done nor required. The neck is sitting correctly and the bridge has plenty of adjustment in both directions. Low action a wonderful and acoustically loud player.

The frets are very clean and I suspect they have been changed but it is hard to tell. It’s not seen much acton in 74 years.

These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
