This is wonderful, Gibson 1981 ES335 in Cherry. The first year of the Dot reissue. I have had a couple of natural ’81’s in and they are exemplary.
Original Tim Shaw pick ups sound amazing. Has the infamous Second Stamp on the headstock rear.
Super clean for it’s age, some polish swirls and very light signs of rash. Frets have years left in them
This has had a minor headstock crack which I have tried to show. The small dark line is the only sign of the crack, not a full break and it has been repaired to an amazing standard. A small area shows under black light and you’d really need to look closely for it in day light.
This is priced cheaper as a result even though how minor it is and the other 81’s I have had were 4k so this is a great price. I have a couple of neck repairs in my collection and they are solid. Players really do not mind them. Being a small crack this did not affect the headstock facia.
Slim neck but not skinny. The Cherry finish is flat showing little grain which really does look fantastic.
One really great 335 to have in.

These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
