Here we have a very rare Gibson 1983 Flying V in Ebony.

I say rare but… there are a few of these out there but I can find only one other with this Volume and Tone lay out with the volume opposite the tailpiece.

I was told that it is possible that during the transition from Kalamazoo to Nashville, it could well have been made between the factories, which would make sense. Has the early Schaller type bridge too as found on Gibsons that I have seen from ’81.

Very nice condition and while other examples show heavy lacquer checking this has very light checking that is visible in the light. Some lacquer chipping around the machine head washers. No other notable dings to the body, one very small on one edge, a little hazing between the pickups and and a very small area where maybe bracelet had been worn similar to a small rash area. The rear does have a slight rash patch but only in the lacquer.

No refinish or breaks and black lights perfectly.

Original Dirty Finger pick ups sound great in this and is good to see then not being swopped out as so many did.

Another very nice feature with this is that it comes with its original warranty Gibson warranty card from when it was bought in 1983 from the famous Manny’s in NYC.

Also comes with its original Gibson hard case which is fair condition with an old owner band stencil.

Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out. 

These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
