Wow, this is one beautiful Guitar to have in. 2024 Gibson Murphy Lab BB King ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ based on his 1974 Walnut ES355 that was used at his performance at Ali fight. One of 100 commission and this is number 9. These all originally sold out in a day.

These Murphy Lab guitars are truly incredible. I have had several in now and every one is a cut above. The price tags is reflective and the signature models such as this and the Noel Gallagher 355 were all £8999 on release which all sold out and this BB King model is hard to price as there are no records of resold examples. The Gallagher one was 14k the next day. Having played both, these really are remarkable guitars. Down to the played in feel of the vibrola, it is not stiff and is very responsive to the touch with little effort. The neck isn’t skinny at the nut as some original 74’s can be, feels to be on the fuller side to me. The pickups are modelled on the classic T-Tops of the time. The detail of the ear shape to the Kalamazoo label is great and the walnut finish really does pull you in.

The sympathetic ageing on remarkable too, the neck crazing and general attention to the VOS age is really the best you’ll see. The guitar is super resonant and slinky to play plus the varitone settings are Wonderfull and very useable.

This comes with the OHSC, certs, scarf, printed cloth poster, tags….everything as it would have new.

Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out. 

These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
