Tis is an interesting one….Gibson SG-Z made in 1998 in Pelham blue. Only produced for two years so now discontinued.
The body has a ’61 spec with larger headstock and heel.
The interesting feature is that it had 24 frets also.
Now this one has been modded. Originally the pick ups were single coil in the neck and humbucker in the bridge. The bridge is original but with the added cover. The Neck is an older Dimarzio DP103 which sounds so good in this.
The route is typically DIY, functional but could be neater. There are two lacquer cracks just either side of the neck pick up which is probably a sign of a drop or something but it is only in the finish, it black lights fine and is only to the front signifying no break. There is the usual lacquer checking appearing which is common.
This plays so good, its hard to put down. These in original clean condition sell for around £1300 so it IS priced accordingly and would be appreciated by a player who will gig the life out of it rather than the ‘my god it’s scratched’ brigade. HAs the 61 neck profile, wide slim but not skinny.
There are some marks but no harsh dings.
Comes with Gig bag.
Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out.
These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
