Every now and then a guitar comes in that truly exceeds expectations. I have played a fair few Heritage, mainly the semi models. This H-170 from 1998, now a discontinued model, is up there with the best boutique builders that I have found.
Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan USA by ex Gibson workers, the detail on the top is among the best that you’ll find on any LP.
What I love about this is the body thickness, or rather slimness at 1 inch and 3/8 not also makes this light but gives it a very pleasant surprise as you’d expect it to be Les Paul width.
The neck does feel slim taper but does have more to it, more a D I’d say.The scale is 24 and 3/4. Medium jumbo frets are all in good order.
Te serial Strat with O denoting via the site that it is 1998 with the pots dating to 1997.
Condition with it is very clean but does have one tr two small marks here and there, nothing terrible. Minor surface rash.
The top on this really is fantastic and changes at angles as it should.
The pick ups sound wonderful and according to the spec are Two Seymour Duncan ’59 PAF pickups. No coil taps.
What an absolute joy of a guitar to have in.

Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out.
These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
