Absolutely stunning Martin HD28 made in 1985.
In that year only 87 were produced.
They had a higher spec being a HD (over D28).
The spec includes, Scolloped Bracing, Hi X-brace 1″ from the soundhole. Ageing toner, Herringbone purfling, Sitka Spruce top with Indian Rosewood back and sides.
The LE model which also came in 85 has addition specs such as square and diamond markers, red dot pins and under finish Tortoise-shell guard.
The tuners have been replaced at some point with Grovers.
Neck has a chunky feel with a soft V profile.
For a 40 year old well played acoustic it does have some minor wear. Strum marks above the sound hole, minor blemishes around the body. The binding has been re glued in places and is sound.
Some pitting on the board which does not affect playability and minor lacquer cracking on one side.
This is one fantastic and very loud acoustic. Probably one of the loudest HD28’s that I have come across.

Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out.
These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
