Stunning 2017 Gibson R8 Historic Reissue (HR) VOS in Iced tea plain top which does have some wonderful long light grain.
Light weight at 8lb 13oz, super resonant and together with the chunky ’58 neck, ticks all the boxes.
The original pickups have been replaced with German handmade Vintage PAFs’ by LeoSound which are an amazing upgrade, don’t get me wrong, nothing wrong with burst buckers but these are really excellent repros and a new one on my radar.
Usually I’d be eager to get some appropriately aged covers back on but I think it looks great with the Zebras, plus it sounds so good I don’t want to touch it. This is how it came to me and it’s superb.
Old pickups are not included in the sale sorry.
Condition is excellent, no rash or dings. I can feel the odd light lacquer mark if I run my fingers over the edges but nothing visible.
Comes wth it’s original Lifton case, cert, tags and check sheet.
