Wow, probably the oldest Gibson I have had through the doors, a 1918 Gibson L3.
Plays wonderful and carefully tuned down for structural care even though this is all sound.
The top has been stripped and a repair can be seen which was done a long time ago I’m told. The rest black lights wonderfully. Originally this would have been similar to the rear and possibly in a burst.
The photo of the carve at the end of the neck to body join is as intended then on this higher end model of the time. So note that is not sinking.
The wooden bridge I’ll assume is a replacement due to it’s new looking appearance.

For an 105 year old guitar it’s incredible.
Also this does come with it’s original Geib hard case and these alone fetch good money. The handle has been repaired but it’s down it’s job.

The rear finish has the usual crazing etc. no other split’s or repairs.
This really does make you play in one certain way. This has sound and songs left in it.

Viewing is a must on this as handling is essential. Other example are £3k on these but with the careful top repair (which is sound) which is very well priced.

Although every guitar is checked at the point of buy in for condition we try to describe as accurately as possible and with the nature of every vintage, modern, used guitar you will always find blemishes held in certain lights that we have not solely pointed out.
These are usually very small lacquer marks or polish swirls and you have to expect a margin of very light marks that go undetected in usual lit environments.
